In a significant public welfare initiative, road accident victims will now receive up to ₹1.5 lakh for cashless medical treatment, as part of a scheme launched by the Central Government to reduce fatalities caused by road mishaps.

This initiative was discussed during a meeting held at Police Lines Kaithal, chaired by DSP Sushil Prakash, on the directives of SP Aastha Modi. The session was attended by nodal officers from hospitals involved in the scheme and ambulance drivers.

The meeting followed a video conference held on January 24 by DGP Haryana Shatrujeet Kapoor, where officials were instructed about the operational aspects of the cashless scheme. The DSP emphasized proper implementation of the e-DAR (Electronic Detailed Accident Report) app, designed to streamline accident case reporting and facilitate faster treatment.

Key Details of the Scheme:

  • Victims of road accidents are entitled to cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh.
  • The initiative aims to reduce deaths caused by delays in treatment.
  • Participating hospitals must log into the e-DAR portal to notify the concerned police station.
  • After police verification, the patient becomes eligible for immediate cashless treatment.
  • The scheme is legally binding for registered hospitals across the country.

Instructions to Ambulance Drivers:

DSP Sushil Prakash also instructed ambulance drivers to transport accident victims to the nearest hospital without delay, emphasizing that timely medical attention is critical for saving lives.

Police personnel are being trained to navigate the e-DAR portal efficiently so they can quickly verify accident cases and assist hospitals in extending treatment without bureaucratic delays.

This initiative reflects a collaborative approach between law enforcement, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to prioritize human life and ensure swift medical response during critical moments.
