Strict Action Against Traffic Violators in Kaithal, Fines Total ₹49.58 Lakh in May
Kaithal police have intensified action against traffic rule violators under the directives of SP Aastha Modi. In May alone, a total of 7,892 challans were issued, and ₹49,58,750 was collected as fines.

A major focus was placed on Bullet bikes with modified silencers that create loud firecracker-like noises, causing public panic. As a result, 45 Bullet motorcycles were specifically fined for this offense.
Traffic SHO Inspector Naresh Kumar led dedicated police teams to monitor and enforce rules across the district. Alongside enforcement, the public is also being educated about the importance of following traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
According to the police spokesperson, among the 7,892 challans issued in May:
- 574 were for missing number plates
- 391 for improper lane changing
- 839 for riding without helmets
- 519 for over-speeding
- 2,153 for wrong-side driving
- 446 for not wearing seat belts
- 32 for drunk driving
- 21 for mobile usage while driving
- 3 for black-tinted windows
- 17 for underage driving

Additionally, 142 vehicles were impounded during the month.
SP Aastha Modi emphasized that the police’s intention is not merely to impose fines, but to save lives. She said, “Neglecting traffic rules endangers your own life, others on the road, and your loved ones. Being a responsible citizen means following the rules for everyone’s safety.”
