Minor and Accomplice Caught for Jewelry Theft in Kaithal

Kaithal, June 23:
In a significant breakthrough, Kaithal’s Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff has apprehended two individuals, including a minor, involved in a theft case where they broke into a house and stole gold, silver, and cash. The operation was led by SI Pradeep Kumar, with the investigative team under HC Anil Kumar.

House Targeted During Owner’s Absence

The theft took place when Bharati, a resident of Sirta Road, was away at her maternal home on June 14. On June 17, she received a call from a neighbor informing her that a windowpane of her house appeared broken. Upon returning, Bharati discovered that burglars had broken the cupboard lock and stolen:

  • 2 gold chains
  • 3 gold rings
  • 3 pairs of gold earrings
  • 2 pairs of gold jhumkas
  • 5 pairs of silver anklets
  • 2 lockets
  • ₹1.78 lakh in cash

A case was immediately registered at the City Police Station.

Swift Action Leads to Arrest

Following the complaint, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff quickly launched an investigation. They detained a 17-year-old boy from Sirta Road and arrested his alleged accomplice, Amit alias Meetu, also a resident of Sirta Road.

During interrogation, the duo confessed to the theft. Police recovered the following items from their possession:

  • 8 grams of gold jewelry
  • 18 grams of silver ornaments
  • A Samsung mobile phone
  • One tablet device

Further Investigation Underway

The police are continuing their investigation and working to recover the remaining stolen property. The arrest of the minor has been processed according to juvenile legal procedures, while Amit is in police custody for further interrogation.

Authorities Urge Vigilance

The incident has raised concerns about residential security in Kaithal, especially during summer travels. Authorities have urged residents to inform neighbors and the police when leaving homes unattended and to ensure their premises are properly locked and secured.

This prompt police action has reassured the local public and highlighted the effectiveness of the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff in handling property-related crimes beyond vehicle theft.
