The EditorSmile Sharma, a student of DAV College, Cheeka, delivered an outstanding performance at the Open Haryana Powerlifting Championship organized by Stone Age Fitness in Ladwa. Competing against participants from districts across Haryana, Sharma secured second place at this prestigious state-level event.
To honor his achievement, College Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh held a special felicitation ceremony on campus. Congratulating the young athlete, Dr. Singh expressed pride in Sharma’s dedication and discipline, calling them the keys to his success.
“It is a matter of great pride that talented youth like Smile Sharma are training with us and bringing recognition to the college and our region at the state level,” Dr. Singh said. He also attributed this success to Sharma’s hard work, commitment, and the guidance of his coach.
Dr. Singh highlighted that DAV College, Cheeka, has become a major center for sports activities. Over the years, many of its athletes have excelled in state and national competitions, further enhancing the college’s reputation. Today, players from not only Haryana but other states also come here for training.
On this occasion, Professor Neelam from the Department of Physical Education extended her congratulations and reaffirmed her commitment to training and mentoring more young athletes to bring them into mainstream sports.
Professor Rajendra Goyal, Dr. Rajendra Singh, and other college staff members were also present to celebrate Sharma’s achievement and encourage the spirit of sportsmanship.
