Neki Ka Ghar NGO Launches Tree Plantation Drive in Cheeka
Cheeka, July 22:
The well-known NGO Neki Ka Ghar, based in Guhla Cheeka, has taken a significant step toward environmental protection by organizing a tree plantation drive. The members of the organization planted both fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees, aiming to combat the rising heat and pollution levels in the area.
Hukam Singh, the president of Neki Ka Ghar, stated that this plantation initiative will continue regularly. “The increasing pollution and heat have caused oxygen scarcity. Planting more trees is the only long-term solution. Today, we planted fruit and shade trees, and we urge the public to join us in this effort to secure a healthier future,” he said.
Treasurer Gurdeep Chaba highlighted the organization’s past efforts, recalling that last year, they planted similar trees at DAV College, Cheeka. “The trees planted by the organization will help keep the college green and will also support students by providing a better oxygen-rich environment,” he added.
Community members like Tarsem Goyal, Sunny Kalra, Dr. Ashok Kumar, and Varinder Verma also participated and encouraged residents to regularly take part in tree plantation activities.
This initiative not only supports ecological balance but also sets an example of responsible citizenship. Locals are invited to contribute their time and efforts in future drives to make the city greener and healthier.
