Helping the Sick and Needy Is the Truest Form of Humanity: Dr. Rajpal Poonia

Cheeka, July 30, 2025 โ€”
The elderly are the backbone of society, and serving and protecting them is our moral responsibility. These words were shared by Dr. Rajpal Poonia, Director of St. John Ambulance International Association, during a welfare program in Cheeka. He stressed that supporting the sick and needy is the highest expression of humanity in todayโ€™s world.

Government Schemes Beneficial, But Awareness Lacking

Dr. Poonia acknowledged that the state government is running several welfare schemes that are genuinely beneficial to the public. However, due to a lack of awareness and understanding, many citizens are unable to fully benefit from them. To bridge this gap, he announced that St. John Ambulance International will now provide first-aid training to the general public, particularly for emergencies, accidents, and natural disasters. The organization also aims to raise awareness about government welfare programs.

Hygiene Kits Distributed to Elderly Residents

At an event organized in the Bagdi Lohar Basti, educationist Professor Raja Singh Jhinjer distributed health and hygiene kits to elderly residents. He praised the elderly as role models whose life experiences are invaluable to society. He emphasized the importance of maintaining good health through proper diet and behavior, calling it the โ€œfirst happiness of life.โ€

Association Working Across All Indian States

Professor Jhinjer highlighted that the St. John Ambulance International Association is delivering effective public services across all Indian states with a strong and noble purpose. The organization continues to serve communities in need through a variety of social and healthcare initiatives.

Call to Build a Drug-Free Society

Anil Garg, a lifetime member of the Indian Red Cross Society and a well-known social worker, appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and contribute to the nation’s development. He stated that with awareness and wisdom, it is entirely possible to build a drug-free society.

Free Soaps and Health Kits Distributed

As part of the initiative, 10 elderly residents from areas like Kalarmajara, Cheeka, and Shakti Nagar received complete health kits, and 50 individuals were given free bathing soaps to promote hygiene.

Community Participation Appreciated

The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, including Satnam Singh, Raju, Birbal Singh, Deepu, Ramkishan, Kania, Bijli, Pataso, Santro, Ram, Dhani Ram, Dayal Singh, Boota Singh, Raj, and Dhaniya Ram, along with many other community members.
