DAV College Commences Academic Session with Spiritual Ceremony

DAV College, Cheeka, inaugurated the academic session 2025–26 with a solemn and spiritual atmosphere. A Vedic Havan Yajna was organized on the college campus, initiated by Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh. The event was attended by the entire faculty, students, NSS volunteers, department heads, and members of the college management committee.

The environment was filled with the sound of Vedic chants and the fragrance of the sacred fire, symbolizing purity, positivity, and auspicious beginnings. During the ceremony, all attendees offered oblations while praying for the success, health, and character development of students.

Principal’s Address Emphasizes Values and Education

Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh chaired the event and extended his best wishes to both teachers and students. He highlighted that DAV institutions uphold the tradition of starting each session with spiritual energy to strengthen students not only academically but also morally and culturally. He encouraged teachers to instill ethical values and to view education not merely as a means to pass exams but as a foundation for life.

Faculty Orientation Program Conducted

Following the Havan, a “Teachers’ Motivation and Orientation Program” was held in the college auditorium. The keynote speaker was Mr. Prem Poonia, a well-known educationist and motivational speaker. He emphasized that a teacher shapes not just the knowledge but the mindset, personality, and direction of students’ futures.

Mr. Poonia stated that inspired teachers are essential to inspiring students. He urged faculty members to identify the hidden potential in students, understand their mental stress, and guide them toward becoming self-reliant, confident, and ethically sound individuals. He also discussed the evolving role of teachers and stressed the importance of becoming mentors rather than mere guides.

Future Programs Planned for Students’ Development

The program concluded with the distribution of prasad and collective well-wishes. Dr. Virender Pal, the event coordinator, informed that upcoming initiatives would include workshops on moral education, personality development sessions, and youth leadership camps. These efforts aim to energize the entire academic environment and foster a new perspective among students and faculty alike.

Both staff and students actively participated in the event, making it a memorable and motivating start to the academic year.
