Honoring Elders Through First Aid and Respect
First Aid Awareness Camp Held in Kharaudi Village
On August 3, 2025, St. John Ambulance International Association organized a special first aid awareness camp for senior citizens in Kharaudi village (Guhla Cheeka). The event was led by Master Trainer and Gold Medalist Professor Raja Singh Jhinjer, under the guidance of National Director Dr. Rajpal Poonia from the New Delhi branch.
Respecting Elders: A Foundation of Family Values
Professor Raja Singh Jhinjer emphasized that elderly individuals are the pillars of our society and deserve deep respect within families. He noted that their life experiences are a treasure, and listening to them enriches both individual lives and communities.
He added, “Respecting elders brings divine blessings to the entire household. Their health and well-being should be a priority, including proper nutrition and thoughtful behavior towards them.”
First Aid Training for a Safer Community
At the event, elders were educated on essential first aid techniques. The training included:
- Treatment of fractures and wound dressing
- Use of splints and dealing with poisoning
- Managing bleeding, high blood pressure, and dog bites
- CPR training for unconsciousness and cardiac arrest
The session aimed to empower elders with basic medical knowledge for emergencies, reinforcing safety and self-reliance.

Community Support and Distribution of Supplies
St. John Ambulance distributed hygiene kits and paracetamol tablets to 30 senior citizens free of charge. The effort was appreciated by local leaders, including SMC President Swarn Singh and Nambardar Pragat Singh, who praised the initiative for promoting public awareness and moral values among youth.
