Free Training in Schools by St. John Ambulance; Drivers, Conductors to Get Priority
Cheeka, August 6, 2025:
In todayโs fast-paced and unpredictable world, accidents and natural disasters have become increasingly common. While science has made life more comfortable, misuse of technology and nature has also raised serious risks to human life. Highlighting this issue, Dr. Rajpal Poonia, National President of the St. John Ambulance International Association of India, emphasized the importance of first aid as a life-saving tool during emergencies.
Free First Aid Training in Schools
Dr. Poonia announced that all school students will receive free first aid training, aiming to build a safer and more prepared young generation. He stressed that in case of accidents or natural calamities, basic first aid knowledge can protect both the injured and those around them.
The organization has made it a priority to train bus drivers and conductors, who are often first responders in road accidents.
First Aid Awareness is Crucial for Everyone
Speaking at a training session held at a local school in Cheeka, Master Trainer and Gold Medalist Professor Raja Singh Jhinjer educated students about life-saving techniques. He explained how a lack of awareness about first aid procedures results in avoidable fatalities.
The training covered vital topics like:
- Importance of first aid
- Safety measures for unconscious individuals
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
- Treating fractures and bleeding
- Managing dizziness, nosebleeds, and shock
Professor Jhinjer stated that a trained first responder can save lives by using available resources effectively and without panic.

Local social worker Surender Singla praised the associationโs contribution to public health and safety. He said, โOrganizations like St. John Ambulance work as the eyes and ears of the state on the ground level.โ
Singla also called the governmentโs welfare schemes the backbone of social development, and lauded the collaboration between public initiatives and grassroots organizations.
