NCC DAV College Organises Awareness Lecture on Ayushman Bharat
The NCC unit of DAV College, Cheeka, organised a special awareness lecture on the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat). The event aimed to inform students and NCC cadets about healthcare services and government schemes, enabling them to benefit personally and spread accurate information in their communities.
Key Objective of the Programme
NCC Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh highlighted that the main goal was to raise awareness about health facilities and government welfare schemes. Students were encouraged to become informed citizens who can guide others in accessing such benefits.
Insights from the Guest Speakers
Dr. Neeraj Singh, serving as the chief speaker, provided detailed information about Ayushman Bharat. He explained that the scheme offers free health insurance up to โน5 lakh per year to economically weaker families. He also discussed eligibility criteria, registration procedures, and the rights of beneficiaries, stressing that proper knowledge of the scheme can help save lives through timely medical care.
Dr. Rajendra Singh emphasised the importance of health awareness, noting that the scheme is not only about financial aid but also about ensuring access to quality medical services. He urged students to visit rural and urban communities to inform relatives and neighbours about the scheme so no one is deprived of its benefits.
