Police Nab Accused in Cheeka Snatching Case

Kaithal, August 16 — The Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff under SI Pradeep Kumar cracked a snatching case in Cheeka by arresting accused Kirpal Singh, a resident of Alipur village, Patiala district, Punjab.

The team led by ASI Ashok Kumar, HC Isham Singh, and HC Lakhvinder conducted the operation successfully.

Incident Details

According to the complaint filed by Materi Devi, a resident of Kharodi village, the incident took place on August 2.

After withdrawing money from the Gramin Bank in Cheeka, she was returning home when a bike-borne youth snatched her bag near Vishwakarma Chowk, Kharodi Road.

The bag contained ₹10,000 cash, a bank passbook, and a mobile phone. The accused fled towards Kaithal after committing the crime.

Recovery from Accused

During the investigation, police recovered:

  • The bike used in the crime
  • One stolen bike (previously stolen from Siwan police station area)
  • Four snatched mobile phones from different places

Judicial Custody

After interrogation, the accused was presented before the court and has been sent to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.
