Tube Well Wire Theft Case Solved in Kaithal
Kaithal Police achieved success in arresting a man involved in stealing tube well wires from farmers’ fields. The incident was reported under Cheeka police station limits, where several thefts took place on the night of August 18–19, 2025.
Multiple Farmers Targeted
According to complaints, unknown thieves stole wires from different farmers’ tube wells along Budhanpur to Ratakheda road.
- Sattu Ram lost around 40 feet of wire.
- Ishwar Singh reported 20 feet stolen.
- Suresh lost 25 feet.
- Hukam Chand reported 40 feet missing.
Following these complaints, an FIR was lodged at Cheeka police station.
Arrest and Investigation
The investigation team, led by ASI Raghubir Singh and ASI Lakhwinder Singh from Bhagal police post, arrested Shamsher Singh, a resident of Sullar village, Patiala (Punjab).
During interrogation, Shamsher confessed to committing the theft along with an accomplice. He admitted to stealing not only the above-mentioned wires but also around 190 feet of wire and other equipment from the fields of Bhagal resident Ashok and neighboring farmers.
Hunt for Second Accused
Police have identified the second suspect involved in the thefts and assured that he will be arrested soon. Shamsher Singh was presented in court on Sunday and remanded to police custody for further interrogation to uncover other theft cases.
