Punjab Police Action Against Illegal Weapons

Punjab Police conducted raids in different areas and registered cases under the Arms Act after seizing illegal firearms and ammunition.

First Case: August 25, 2025

On 25 August 2025, police teams recovered:

  • 01 rifle (12 bore)
  • 01 pistol (.315 bore)
  • 17 live cartridges
  • Cash worth ₹8,500

The accused has been booked under Section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act. According to police, he was supplying illegal weapons.

Second Case: August 26, 2025

On 26 August 2025, another raid was conducted by police in Batala subdivision (Gurdaspur district). From the possession of the accused, police recovered:

  • 02 pistols (.32 bore)
  • 12 live cartridges (.32 bore)
  • 03 rifles
  • 90 rounds of ammunition

A case has been registered under Section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act.

Accused Identified

The arrested persons include:

  1. Toc Parak Singh, resident of Hoshiarpur district
  2. Bivh Singh, resident of Batala (Gurdaspur)

Police have initiated further investigation to trace the weapon supply chain.

Police Statement

Officials stated that the crackdown is part of a larger campaign against the illegal arms trade in Punjab. “This action will prevent criminal elements from misusing weapons. The police is committed to public safety,” the spokesperson said.
