Illegal country-made pistol and 4 empty shells recovered
Kaithal, September 6: Police in Kaithal have arrested an accused involved in a firing incident that took place in Paharpur village, where shots were fired at a house with the intention to kill. The swift action led to the recovery of an illegal country-made pistol and four empty shells.
The Incident in Paharpur
According to the complaint filed by Paharpur resident Devi Dayal, the incident occurred on the night of September 3 around midnight. The accused, identified as Pradman alias Daman Singh, a resident of Umedpur village, allegedly fired four rounds at his house with the intention to kill.
Two bullets struck the walls of the house, creating panic among family members who had to hide to save their lives.
Dispute Behind the Attack
As per the complaint, the accused was often seen driving at very high speed in the village. When Devi Dayal’s son and other villagers advised him to drive slower, the accused allegedly abused them with caste-related slurs and issued threats. This past enmity eventually led to the armed attack.

Police Investigation and Arrest
On the instructions of SP Astha Modi, a special investigation was conducted under the supervision of DSP Guhla Kuldeep Beniwal. Acting promptly, the police team arrested the accused from his native village Umedpur.
During the arrest, police recovered the 315-bore country-made pistol used in the crime along with four empty cartridges.
Legal Action and Further Investigation
The accused has been taken into custody and will be produced before the court. Police officials confirmed that further interrogation is underway to identify if more people were involved in the crime or if the weapon was linked to other cases.
SP Astha Modi assured villagers that strict action will be taken against anyone threatening law and order, and illegal weapons will not be tolerated in the district.
