Ghaggar Water Level at 21.7 Feet with 44,484 Cusecs Flow: SDM Capt. Pramesh Singh
Farmers urged to register on the e-compensation portal for crop damage claims
Guhla-Cheeka, September 12:
SDM Capt. Pramesh Singh informed that the water level of the Ghaggar river has been continuously receding. According to Friday’s 3 PM report, the water level stood at 21.7 feet with a flow of 44,484 cusecs. The river had earlier peaked at 24.8 feet, showing a drop of nearly three feet.
He urged farmers whose crops were damaged due to waterlogging in their fields to register on the e-compensation portal to ensure timely financial relief.
Capt. Pramesh Singh assured that both the district and local administrations are closely monitoring the flood situation. Excavators and other machinery from the irrigation department have been deployed on-site to strengthen weak embankments immediately. Waterlogged fields are gradually draining, and the situation is now under control.
He added that village-level teams are stationed across affected areas to keep constant watch. Meanwhile, the police department has made strict security arrangements at key points. A Flood Warning Station has been set up by the police at Brahm Shakti Ashram near the Ghaggar Tatyana gauge on the Kaithal-Patiala road, which is operating round the clock to manage information exchange.
