₹50 Lakh for Vote! Councillor Jitender Kumar CheekaCaught Taking Bribe, Arrested After Secret Recording

Anti-Corruption Bureau Cracks Major Bribery Case in Guhla Cheeka

Guhla-Cheeka: In a shocking revelation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Municipal Councillor Jitender Kumar from Ward No. 14 of Cheeka on charges of demanding a ₹50 lakh bribe. The arrest came after a secret voice recording and forensic voice matching confirmed his involvement.

According to officials, Jitender Kumar allegedly demanded ₹50 lakh in exchange for not voting against Municipal Chairperson Rekha Rani and Vice-Chairperson Pooja Sharma during a no-confidence motion.

Complaint Filed by Close Associate of Vice-Chairperson

Complainant Vijay Kumar, who is known to be close to Vice-Chairperson Pooja Sharma, approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau Ambala with a formal complaint. He stated that during discussions over the no-confidence proposal, Councillor Jitender, along with two other councillors, contacted him.

They allegedly offered to vote against the motion if they were paid ₹50 lakh, demanding ₹6 lakh as an advance payment in cash.

Secret Recording Becomes Key Evidence

Acting smartly, Vijay Kumar secretly recorded the entire conversation. Later, he handed over the recording to the Anti-Corruption Bureau as proof. The ACB then sent the audio clip to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Madhuban for a voice matching test.

The report confirmed that the recorded voice indeed belonged to Councillor Jitender Kumar.

Arrest Made After Forensic Confirmation

As soon as the Anti-Corruption Bureau received the forensic report, a team swiftly raided Jitender Kumar’s shop located in the Cheeka market and arrested him on the spot. He will be produced before the court for remand today.

More Arrests Likely in the Case

According to ACB Kaithal In-Charge Mahendra Singh, the investigation may expose the involvement of other councillors as well. If sufficient evidence is found, more arrests could follow soon.

The case has sent shockwaves across Guhla-Cheeka’s political circles, raising serious questions about corruption within local governance.
