CIA-1 Kaithal Police Nab Two with 6.19 Kg Ganja in Major Crackdown
SP Upasana’s Anti-Drug Campaign Tightens Noose on Traffickers
Kaithal, November 3 — Under the directions of Superintendent of Police (SP) Upasana, the Kaithal district police are intensifying efforts against drug trafficking while continuing awareness drives to discourage drug abuse. In a significant success, the CIA-1 Police Team arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 6.19 kilograms of ganja (cannabis flower and leaves) from their possession.
Secret Tip-Off Leads to Arrest
Police spokesperson informed that the CIA-1 team, led by SI Jaswant Singh and ASI Raghubir Singh, was on routine evening patrol near the Mundri Bus Stand when they received a confidential tip-off.
The input revealed that Majaved Akhtar, a resident of Kamalpur (District Supaul, Bihar), and Pawan, a resident of Arraha (District Supaul, Bihar), were involved in selling ganja and were currently waiting near the Sirsa Branch Canal ahead of Mundri village, possibly to deliver the consignment.
Acting swiftly, the police team conducted a raid at the indicated location and successfully apprehended both suspects.

6.19 Kg Ganja Seized During Search
A search conducted in the presence of AETO Kaithal Jatin Singh led to the recovery of 6.19 kilograms of ganja packed inside a bag held by the accused. Both men were taken into custody and charged under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Pundri.
Eight-Day Police Remand for Further Investigation
The investigation team led by ASI Gurdan Singh presented both accused before the court, which granted an eight-day police remand for further questioning. The police aim to identify the source of the narcotics and the network involved in its distribution.
The Kaithal Police reiterated their commitment to making the district drug-free and urged the public to report any suspicious activity related to narcotics to the nearest police station or through the Helpline Number 112.
