Kaithal Police Intensifies Action Against Wanted Criminals Under Operation Track Down
Kaithal, 17 November โ Under the orders of Haryana DGP O.P. Singh and the leadership of SP Upasana, Kaithal Police is continuously taking strong action against wanted criminals as part of Operation Track Down. In a major success, the Special Detective Unit has arrested a wanted accused involved in loot and blackmail carried out through a fake scrap-selling trap.
Victim Trapped Using Fake Scrap-Selling Call
According to the police spokesperson, the complainant Sonu, a resident of village Matoor who runs a scrap shop, received a call on 24 May from an unknown number. A woman pretended to sell scrap and called him to Kaithal.
Following her instructions, he reached Cheeka Chowk where the woman met him and took him to a house to show scrap items. As soon as he entered the room, a girl, a woman, four boys and an elderly man locked him inside.

Accused Assaulted, Looted and Blackmailed the Victim
The suspects assaulted him, took โน10,000 cash from his pocket, and forcefully transferred โน40,000 through Google Pay. When he refused to unlock his phone, they recorded obscene photos and videos with a girl and threatened to make them viral.
Before releasing him, they warned him not to inform anyone or the video would be leaked. The case was registered at the City Police Station.
Special Detective Unit Arrests the Wanted Accused Ravi
During investigation, the Special Detective Unit led by SI Ramesh Kumar and SI Virender Singh arrested the accused Ravi, resident of Siwan and currently living near Bhaini Majra Mod, Kaithal. He was caught near Sugar Mill Colony.
Two other accused had already been arrested earlier, while Ravi had been absconding for a long time.
Accused Involved in 10 Criminal Cases Across Multiple Police Stations
Police records show that the arrested accused Ravi was involved in a series of theft and blackmail cases:
- 4 theft cases at Police Station Siwan
- 3 theft cases at Police Station Sadar
- 1 blackmail case and 1 theft case at Police Station City
- 1 theft case at Police Station Sadar Bilaspur
He will be produced in court for further interrogation.
Police Appeal for Public Caution and Cooperation
Kaithal Police has urged residents to remain alert against fake calls and fraud traps involving scrap selling or online transfers. Police assured that the crackdown on wanted criminals under Operation Track Down will continue.
