St. John Ambulanceโ€™s Rural Training Initiative Praised for Helping Unemployed Youth

Guhla-Cheeka, November 21 โ€” The St. John Ambulance International Associationโ€™s initiative to provide employment-oriented training at the rural level has been widely lauded for empowering unemployed youth. A four-day Basic First Aid training kaithal and Road Safety Conductor Licence Training Camp is currently underway in Harigarh Kingan village under the Guhla subdivision.

The camp has been organised with the efforts of social workers and Block Committee members Naib Singh, Bharat Singh, and Hansraj. A total of 30 unemployed youths are participating in the life-saving training.

A Commendable Step for Youth Employment and Safer Communities

Social worker Naib Singh praised the initiative, stating that the St. John Ambulance District Branch Kaithal is playing a crucial role in preparing youth for both a safer society and better career opportunities.

The camp is being conducted under the guidance of Dr. Rajpal Poonia, National President of St. John Ambulance Association India, Dr. Rajendra Saini, National Trainer, and the leadership of Dr. Raja Singh Jhinger, District Secretary and Gold Medallist.

Bharat Singh emphasised that such training not only enhances personal safety but also promotes harmony, cooperation, and social responsibility among the youth.

First Aid: Turning Crisis Into Life-Saving Action

Trainer Dr. Raja Singh Jhinger, while delivering the sessions, said that a person present at the accident site can save a victimโ€™s life using available resources, presence of mind, and proper first aid knowledge. He added that timely first aid can turn the victimโ€™s despair into hope.

The primary aim of the camp is to equip youth with basic first aid and road safety skills so they can obtain a conductor licence, improving their chances of securing employment in roadways and transport services.

Hands-On CPR and Emergency Response Training

During the training, participants learned techniques for responding to road accidents and natural disasters, including fracture management, bleeding control, unconsciousness response, and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). They also practised CPR techniques on a human dummy under expert supervision.

Trainee Mandeep Kaur from Rajpura shared that such structured training programs are rare and extremely valuable. She said first aid skills are essential for protecting oneโ€™s own life as well as saving others, contributing to public safety and community health.
