
Guhla-Cheeka, March 19 – World Consumer Day was celebrated at the Office of the Assistant Food and Supplies Officer in Cheeka. Presiding over the event, Inspector Surendra Singh highlighted that this day is observed every year on March 15 to promote consumer rights and ensure their protection. He emphasized awareness about the rights granted under the Consumer Protection Act of 1986.
Inspector Vivekanand advised consumers to always check for a proper bill, accurate measurements, and expiry dates while purchasing goods or services.
On this occasion, Sub-Inspector Rahul Kumar provided information about the “Har Ghar, Har Grihani” scheme launched by the government. Under this scheme, BPL and income card holders can avail of LPG cylinders for ₹500. The scheme was initiated in August 2024, and efforts are being made to register more beneficiaries under it.
Depot Association President Bijender Kaushal, along with Sadhu Ram, Ram Kumar, and other dignitaries, were also present at the event.
