Incentive for Pulses & Green Manure Sowing Before Paddy
Guhla-Cheeka — The Agriculture Department has launched a farmer-focused push for crop diversification and soil health. Dr. Kanchan Sharma, SDO (Agriculture), said that under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, farmers who sow green manure or pulse crops before paddy will receive ₹1000 per acre from the Haryana government.
Registration Mandatory on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’
To avail the benefit, farmers must register on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal. Registration is open and must be completed by April 15.
Eligible Crops Under the Scheme
The scheme covers green manure as well as pulse crops such as:
- Moong
- Urad
- Lobia
- Moth
- Arhar
- Soybean
- Guar
Farmers can purchase seeds from the open market and proceed with sowing.

Photo Upload and Field Verification
Farmers must upload crop photos on the portal. From April 15 to May 15, Agriculture Department teams will conduct field verification. After successful verification, the incentive will be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts via DBT.
Why This Matters for Soil Health
Dr. Sharma explained that green manure and pulses increase organic carbon in the soil, improving fertility and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers. This also supports better yields in subsequent crops.
She urged farmers to make full use of the scheme to improve profitability while restoring soil quality.
