Kaithal Police March Action: 92 Arrested Across 74 Cases

Kaithal, April 3 — Maintaining law and order while intensifying action against crime, Kaithal Police reported major success during March. In a district-wide drive against liquor and drug smuggling, theft, robbery, burglary, and illegal arms possession, 92 accused were arrested in 74 cases.

Stolen Property Worth ₹12.89 Lakh Recovered

In property-related crimes, police solved 21 cases and arrested 26 accused, recovering stolen public property worth ₹12.89 lakh from their possession.

NDPS Drive: Drugs Seized, 10 Arrested

Under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, police registered 8 cases and arrested 10 accused. Seizures included:

  • 2.084 kg Chura Post
  • 1.940 kg Ganja
  • 1.083 kg Opium
  • 68.222 g Heroin

Liquor Smuggling: 34 Cases Registered

Under the Punjab Excise Act (as applicable), 34 accused were arrested. Recoveries included:

  • 409 bottles of country liquor
  • 503 bottles of illicit liquor
  • 4,742 litres of lahan

Illegal Arms and Gambling Cases

In 5 cases of illegal arms possession, 12 accused were arrested with:

  • 7 country-made pistols
  • 25 live cartridges

In 6 gambling cases, ₹12,980 was recovered from 6 accused.

26 Bail Jumpers and 12 Proclaimed Offenders Held

Police also apprehended 26 bail jumpers and 12 proclaimed offenders during the month.

SP’s Appeal to Citizens

Manpreet Singh Sudan, SP Kaithal, said the police’s foremost duty is to ensure safety of life and property. He appealed to citizens to report suspicious activities promptly to enable timely action and keep the district peaceful.
