Kaithal Police Continue Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign Across Villages
Kaithal, January 8 – Under the Drug-Free India campaign, Kaithal Police are continuously running an effective drug awareness drive across the district with the objective of creating a drug-free society. Acting under the able leadership and directions of Superintendent of Police Upasana, the police department is making consistent efforts to protect youth from the harmful effects of substance abuse and guide them toward a healthy and positive lifestyle.
The main aim of this campaign is to pull young people out of the grip of drug addiction and motivate them to adopt a disciplined and constructive path in life.
Awareness Programs Held in Multiple Villages
As part of this ongoing initiative, the drug awareness team organized special awareness programs in villages Theh Baneda, Dandot, Baupur, Saungalpur, Maingda, and Salimpur. During these programs, police personnel interacted directly with villagers, youth, women, and elderly citizens to spread awareness about the serious consequences of drug abuse.
The police team explained in simple language how addiction not only destroys an individual’s health but also damages families and society as a whole.

Police Educate Citizens on Harmful Effects of Drug Abuse
Members of the awareness team, including SI Karmbir, HC Sunil Kumar, women constables Rekha and Sonia, and SPOs Rajpal, Pradeep Kumar, and Jaswinder, addressed the gatherings and highlighted the ill effects of drugs.
They explained that drug addiction severely harms both physical and mental health. It also leads to family disputes, financial problems, loss of employment, and an increase in criminal activities. The police urged people to understand that addiction is not just a personal issue but a social evil that affects entire communities.
Appeal to Youth and Parents
During the programs, special emphasis was laid on educating the youth, as they are the most vulnerable to falling into addiction. The police team appealed to young people to stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, and skill development.
Parents and elders were also requested to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on their children’s activities. They were advised to guide and counsel young family members and seek timely help if they notice any signs of addiction.
Strict Action Against Drug Traffickers
The police team made it clear that Kaithal Police are taking strict action against drug traffickers. They warned that anyone found involved in drug peddling or related illegal activities would not be spared.
Citizens were informed that the police are constantly monitoring suspicious activities and strengthening intelligence networks to curb drug trafficking at its roots.
Public Asked to Cooperate with Police
Kaithal Police appealed to the general public to actively cooperate in making the district drug-free. People were requested to immediately inform the nearest police station or police control room if they come across any drug-related activity or suspicious movement in their area.
The police assured citizens that the identity of informers would be kept confidential, encouraging more people to come forward without fear.
Continuous Efforts Toward a Drug-Free Society
The police department reaffirmed its commitment to continue such awareness programs in the future as well. Officials believe that sustained awareness, strict enforcement, and community participation are essential to eliminate drug abuse from society.
By regularly reaching out to villages and interacting with residents, Kaithal Police aim to build trust and promote collective responsibility against drug addiction.
Positive Response from Villagers
Villagers welcomed the initiative and appreciated the police for visiting their localities and addressing a serious social issue. Many residents said that such programs help create awareness and encourage families to openly discuss the dangers of drug abuse.
The interactive nature of the programs allowed citizens to ask questions and better understand how to protect their families and neighborhoods.
