Kaithal Police Seizes 15.130 Kg Opium Plants in Kharodi
Kaithal, April 4 — Continuing its crackdown on narcotics, Kaithal Police intensified surveillance against drug traffickers under the directions of SP Manpreet Singh Sudan. In a major action, the Special Detective Unit arrested an accused for illegally cultivating opium plants behind his house in Kharodi village.
Raid Based on Secret Information
The team led by Inspector Sunil Kumar, in coordination with AAI Tarsem, was on evening patrol near the Kharodi bus stand when they received credible intelligence. Acting swiftly, the police raided the suspect’s residence and apprehended Gagandeep alias Gagan, a resident of Kharodi.

Opium Crop Recovered
In the presence of DSP Kuldeep Beniwal, a lawful search was conducted. Police recovered 15.130 kilograms of opium plants (doda post) cultivated behind the house.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
A case has been registered at Guhla Police Station under the NDPS Act. ASI Shamsher Singh formally arrested the accused, who has been sent to judicial custody as per court orders.
Ongoing Anti-Narcotics Drive
Kaithal Police reiterated that strict action will continue against those involved in drug cultivation and trafficking, as part of its mission to eliminate narcotics from the district.
