As part of this initiative, police employees who recently completed their basic training and arrived in Kaithal district for field training were given special awareness about cyber crime prevention.

The objective of this awareness session was to prepare police personnel to protect themselves and the general public from the increasing threat of cyber crimes. The session highlighted the importance of vigilance, technical understanding, and timely reporting of cyber-related incidents.

Awareness Program Conducted by Cyber Crime Police Station

According to the police spokesperson, the awareness session was conducted by PSI Shubhranshu, In-charge of the Cyber Crime Police Station. During the program, police personnel were informed in detail about various forms of cyber crimes that are rapidly increasing in the present time.

The session focused on practical knowledge and real-life examples, helping police staff understand how cyber criminals operate and how they target victims.

Types of Cyber Crimes Explained in Detail

PSI Shubhranshu explained that cyber criminals are using advanced techniques to deceive people. He provided detailed information about common cyber crimes such as:

  • Online fraud and financial scams
  • Digital arrest fraud
  • Fake phone calls impersonating officials
  • Social media account hacking
  • OTP and suspicious link fraud
  • Fake mobile applications
  • Banking and UPI-related frauds

He emphasized that cyber criminals are not only targeting common citizens but are also attempting to trap police personnel, making awareness and caution extremely important.

Vigilance Is the Best Defense Against Cyber Crime

He clearly instructed that OTPs, banking details, and personal information should never be shared with anyone under any circumstances. In case of any suspicious activity, immediate action can prevent major losses.

Guidelines for Reporting Cyber Crimes

Police personnel were informed that if they or any citizen become victims of cyber fraud, they should immediately contact:

  • Cyber Crime Helpline Number: 1930
  • Nearest Cyber Crime Police Station

Timely reporting helps authorities block fraudulent transactions and track cyber criminals more effectively.

Safe Use of Social Media and Digital Platforms

He said that an aware and informed police force can help create a secure society. When police personnel themselves are well-informed, they can effectively guide citizens and prevent them from falling prey to cyber criminals.

Interactive Session with Police Personnel

During the awareness program, police personnel actively shared their experiences related to cyber crimes. A question-and-answer session was also conducted, allowing participants to clear their doubts and gain deeper understanding of the subject.

The interactive format of the session helped police employees relate the information to real field situations, making the training more effective and practical.

District Police to Continue Awareness Initiatives

The district police assured that such awareness programs will continue in the future. The aim is to further enhance the technical skills of police personnel and keep them updated with the latest cyber crime trends.
