NSS Foundation Day at Bhagal School
Cheeka, September 24 – Shaheed Sipahi Rajesh Kumar Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Bhagal, celebrated National Service Scheme (NSS) Foundation Day with great enthusiasm. All student volunteers participated actively, showcasing their spirit of service and responsibility.
Event Begins with Saraswati Vandana and Discussions
The program commenced with a prayer to Goddess Saraswati, followed by serious discussions on social issues led by students. The event was presided over by Principal Raghbir Singh, while NSS volunteers took charge of conducting the program successfully.
“NSS Shapes Responsible Citizens” – Principal Raghbir Singh
In his motivational address, Principal Raghbir Singh said that NSS is an effective medium for the holistic development of students. It not only instills a spirit of service but also contributes to personality development and nation-building.
Historical Insight by NSS Officer Satinderpal Singh
NSS Officer Satinderpal Singh shared that Dr. V. K. R. V. Rao is regarded as the father of NSS in India, and the scheme was launched on 24 September 1969. He emphasized that the program is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of service and humanity.
Quoting the NSS motto “Not Me, But You”, student Archit Sharma explained that it teaches youth to put others before self, making them socially responsible citizens.

Patriotic Song Filled the Atmosphere
Towards the conclusion, Lovleen, a Class 12 student, presented a heartfelt patriotic song “Ae Desh Mere”, which filled the gathering with nationalistic fervor.
The event was attended by the entire school staff, along with notable dignitaries including Krishna Poonia, Naval Kalra, Darshan Singh, Surender Kumar, Lalit Malik, Payal, Asha Rani, and Rajinder Kumar.
