Students Visit Waste Processing Site on Kaithal Road
Cheeka, September 24 โ Under the Swachhata Abhiyan, the Municipal Council Cheeka organized a special inspection program at the waste processing site on Kaithal Khurana Road. The event was attended by Municipal Secretary Jatinder Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Municipal Coordinator Prakash, school staff, and students.
Children Learn Waste Management Practices
At the processing plant, children were given a practical demonstration of how waste collected from the city is processed. They learned about:
- Converting wet waste into compost
- Segregation of dry waste
- Other eco-friendly waste management activities
This hands-on experience helped students understand the importance of recycling and environmental conservation.

Health Camp for Sanitation Workers
Alongside the site visit, the Municipality organized a health check-up camp at Civil Hospital, Guhla for sanitation workers. The camp focused on ensuring the well-being of Swachhata Mitras, who play a crucial role in maintaining city cleanliness.
Appeal for Civic Responsibility
During the program, Municipal Secretary Jatinder Sharma appealed to the public to take responsibility for keeping the city clean and beautiful. He urged citizens to:
- Report garbage dumps via the Swachhata App or at Room No. 8, Municipal Office
- Use cloth bags instead of plastic bags
- Encourage customers and neighbors to adopt eco-friendly practices
He emphasized that community participation is essential to protect the environment and maintain hygiene.
